December 2025
The Metropolitan Children's Advocacy Center is committed to the fight against child abuse, one of the ugliest aspects of life. Friends of the Met CAC is committed to supporting the Met CAC as they strive to protect the most vulnerable among us.
Join us by supporting our annual Ugly Sweater 5K on December 13, 2025. This event is an exciting addition to Columbia’s running community as we invite runners of all levels to wear their ugliest holiday sweater to shine a light on the ugliness of child abuse that exists in our communities.
Friends of the MetCAC are looking for runners and sponsors. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please follow this link. https://form.jotform.com/251596842120153

Get ready for a silent auction, a night of glamour, and giving back at our 2nd Annual Charity METCAC Gala - Blue Carpet Masquerade!
On Saturday evening, September 28th, 2024, we are hosting “Blue Carpet Masquerade” to celebrate the friends who have supported the Met CAC for the last 30 years and to sow seeds for a whole new crop of friends who will ensure children in the Columbia area continue to have access to the Met CAC’s outstanding services. The Gala will be a semi-formal event held at City Grit’s beautiful establishments and will feature a night of music and a silent auction. More information is forthcoming.
We have been to City Grits and Small Sugar several times planning this event and took some pictures of the space.

Message from the President
Dear Friends of the Met CAC,
As 2023 comes to a close I would personally like to take the time to Thank You for your support of Friends of the Metropolitan Childs Advocacy Center.
By supporting The Friends of Met CAC, you have helped us to offer financial support to the Met CAC staff, who as part of ChildFirst SC, provided vital training to nearly 100 child protection professionals statewide. Your generosity has also allowed us to offer meal cards to caseworkers for children in care whose visits might interfere with their meal schedules because of their appointment times.
Together we have helped to support over 800 children this year referred to the Met CAC for concerns of Physical Neglect, Sexual Abuse, Witnesses to Violence, Drug Endangerment, and Trafficking/Exploitation have access to Forensic Interviews and Medical Exams.
You are change makers and your support matters!
We would also like to ask if you would consider an End of the Year donation to Friends of the Met CAC so that we can continue to support the Met CAC as they work to make a difference in child advocacy.
Change takes a village! So whether you’ve given a gift, joined us at a percentage night, or attending our past Gala event, we are ever grateful for your role in our community.
In 2023, the Friends of the Met CAC took part in Families helping Families.
